French designer Isabel Marant has joined a growing list of top notch names collaborating with Swedish fast fashion retailer H&M. Known for her Parisian aesthetics, Marant, who also designs for her eponymous label, will create a wardrobe of must-have pieces inspired by the her signature style, says H&M. The collection will be available from November 14 around the world.

“I am flattered by this collaboration. H&M works with the best designers and this invitation is an exciting honour,” Marant said in a release. “I aim at creating something real, that women want to wear in their everyday lives, with a certain carelessness, which I think is very Parisian: you dress up, but do not pay too much attention and still look attractive.”

“The collection is infused with this kind of easiness and attitude. Everything can be mixed following one’s own instincts. My take on fashion is all about personality.”

H&M has launched many high-profile collaborations starting with Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld in 2004. Designers including British fashion icon Stella McCartney, Dutch duo Victor & Rolf, the Italian Roberto Cavalli and fashion houses Lanvin and Versace have all created collections for the brand. The last collaboration, with fashion house Maison Martin Margiela, was launched in November last year.

“We are excited to have Isabel Marant as a guest designer at H&M. The way she mixes different elements in her collections, creating a style that is effortless and urban, makes her very contemporary,” said Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor at H&M. “She has a fantastic eye for ethnic detail and the rare ability to create something that people really want to wear.”

H&M operates multiple stores across various emirates in the UAE.
